Early 17th Century Ivory V.O.C. Walking Stick
A distinct 17th century walking stick made from ivory segments of varying lengths. The decorative head is also made of ivory and depicts the image of a roaring Dutch lion. At the bottom of the head there’s a monogram of the United East Indian Company which existed from 1602 – 1799. The leather carrying cord has been replaced by a smooth example. Length is 81 cm.
