OBSERVATION BINOCULARS - 15 X 80 NIKKO
Very beautiful big Japanese binoculars made by Nikko in the 1938-1944 period. built-up on the original half-gimballed bow system of polished aluminium. Stylish item with many original elements: revolving prism house, air connectors, pinsight, protractor, sightly oval bow and oak wood stand. The binoculars are fully restored and cleaned and polished on the inside. Excellent optical quality: perfectly clear representation, nice sharpness, and detailled image.
In the years leading up to the 1st and 2nd World Wars Carl Zeiss was the biggest market leader, and provider of optics in and outside Europe. All Japanese naval officers used Carl Zeiss optics in the 1881-1914 period. After the 1st World War it became impossible to import optics from Germany, and the decision was made to manufacture the items themselves for own expansion. It was de Fuji brothers who began manufacturing the first Japanese models in 1911. The development and production of high performance optics was seen in Japan as a great advantage during military operations. Nippon Kogaku (Nikon) and Toko were market leaders and produced these high classed optics until the 1950s.

Binoculars by the German firm of Schneider of Kreuznach, made in 1943. D.F. (Doppel Fernrohe) 10 x 80 observation binoculars with four built-in filters. Optical quality is excellent: perfectly clear presentation, sharp contrast, crystal clear image. Stylishly built-up with a half gimballed brace system of polished aluminum on a matching oak wood stand. The inside of the binoculars has been cleaned professionally, the outside smoothly polished.
General information built-in filters: Blue and green coloured filters can provide eye protection against laser and radiation. Neutral shades of grey can be used in good and clear weather conditions. Light orange or yellow can heighten the contrast when there is not much light or in foggy conditions.

JAPANESE BATTLE SHIP BRIDGE BINOCULARS NIKON 20 X 120
A big and powerful pair of binoculars made by the Japanese firm of Nikon in the 1939-1940 period. An elegant and stylish piece for display in study or library, and very suitable for taking with you aboard your yacht.
The binoculars have been cleaned professionally on the inside. The outside has been beautifully polished, the binoculars are in absolute mint condition!! OBSERVATION BINOCULARS CARL ZEISS 12 X 60
Nice technical and timeless model binoculars made by Carl Zeiss. The serial number of these binoculars can be found in the Zeiss statistics and work orders from 1943 - 1945. The inside of the binoculars has been cleaned professionally, the outside smoothly polished. Newly built-up on a polished aluminium stand. The front of the binoculars can be lifted and serves as a rain and sun cap. In the sun cap is the solar shield, these are operated with a small lever. The aluminium body is made from one piece.
The lenses are protected from rain and dirt by the original hood white canvas strap; the Benutzerkappe. This is a typical feature of German naval optics in the 1940.
Comfortable viewing pleasure because of the soft flip-up eye rubbers. Excellent optical presentation, nice clear reproduction, sharp and detailed image. Binoculars and stand are in mint condition.
