Very refined brass octant of the firm Henry Hughes & Son of London, ca 1860, executed in an A frame. Beautiful implementation with various colored horizon glasses, two mirrors, prism viewers and adjust pin for the mirrors. Angle measurement up to 90 degrees, ivory protractor and vernier. Nonius reading magnifier with up to 20 seconds. Length alidade 24 cm (9, 5 inches) Protractor 24 cm (9.5 inches) Mahogany-wooden quarter circle crate.

BELFRAME SEXTANT HEATH & CO LTD LONDON 19TH CENTURY
Elegant sextant executed in a bell frame of oxidised brass. Scale from 0 up to 150 degrees, with magnifying glass and vernier up to 10 seconds. Test Certificate National Physical Laboratory. The sextant comes with many accessories:
Accessories: Four coloured sunglasses Three horizon glasses Patent greatest angle clamp Two coloured eye caps Four telescopes in various lengths Portable binoculars Screwdriver Adjusting pin for the mirrors Little key to lock the chest The original leather travelling bag is there, with gilded print for protection of the chest Mahogany wood chest with brass fitting and an ivory plate carrying the legend “Bell Pattern Mark 111 Sextant”.
The sextant is attached in the chest with a patent clamp system. Size of the leather travelling bag: 28 cm. x 28 cm. x 15 cm. (11 x 11 x 6 inches). Made in late 19th, early 20th century. High quality and very complete item.

EBONY WOOD OCTANT IN MAHOGANY WOOD CHEST CA 1840
Very refined ebony wood octant by the firm of Spencer-Browning & Co. of London. Nicely crafted with six coloured horizon glasses, two mirrors and prism viewers. Angle measurement up to 90 degrees, ivory protractor and vernier, vernier reading up to 20 seconds. Complete item with separate eye cap to be used with the prism viewers, and adjusting pin for the mirror. In the chest there is a very beautiful trademark by J. Scott Bermondsey Wall, retailers. The octant as well as the original mahogany wood chest are undamaged. Absolutely mint condition. Length alidade 27 cm. (10.5 inches) Diameter chest 33 cm. (13 inches)

CIRCLE FRAME SEXTANT G. DE KONINGH CA 1890-1910
Circle frame sextant, made by Dutch firm De Koningh. Scale division and vernier out of platinum. Scale from 5 to 150 degrees, vernier up to 10 seconds. A distinct sextant with lots of accessories. Oak carrying case, entirely fitted with various coloured glasses, telescopes, prism viewers, eye cap and adjusting pin for the mirrors. Lighting above the vernier by way of an in-built battery in the mahogany wood handle. As an extra option: a telescope viewer fitted with black leather. The binocular can be mounted together with a prism viewer. Perfect focus. Comes with test certificate by the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute. Registration number 2582.
